By Honey Brook Fire Company #1
July 9, 2014
At 0154 hours, Station 33 was alerted for an engine to assist Station 49 (East Brandywine) with a reported outbuilding fire in Indian Run Mobile Home Park. Chief 33 (Messner), DEputy 33 (Klinger) and Engine 33-5 (Brooks) responded within a few minutes. As units responded to the call they were advised by Chester County Fire Radio that a West Brandywine Police Officer was onscene reporting a shed on fire with explosion and fire had extended into the trailer a few feet away from it.
Engine 33-5 arrived and 0209 hours and assumed the first in Engine Company duties and deployed two hand-lines to the structure with one going inside and one to the rear for the shed. The fire was quickly knocked down and crews from Honey Brook, East Brandywine and Glenmoore Fire Company's checked for any extension and hidden fire. The incident was placed under control by Chief 49 at 0223 hours.
