By Deputy Fire Chief Robert Klinger, Jr.
October 22, 2014

At 0917 hours, Station 33 (Honey Brook) was dispatched for a reported vehicle fire in the 600 block of Twin County Road. Deputy 33 (Klinger) responded and was advised by Chester County Fire Board of a reported recreational vehicle that was on fire with exposures to a house and shed. As units responded from the Station a large smoke column was noticeable from town.

Engine 33-1 (L. Stoltzfus) arrived confirming the report as crews began deploying two pre-connected hand-lines from Engine 33-1. Deputy 33 arrived and assumed "Route 10 Command" and requested an upgrade to an outbuilding adding Lancaster Station 34 (Caernarvon), Station 69 (Twin Valley), Station 49 (East Brandywine) for the Rapid Intervention Team.

After several minutes the assignment was held to the Honey Brook units, Lancaster Tanker 34 and Ladder 49 was diverted to Station 33 to cover the are. Due to the quick response and work by the initial crews no fire damage was sustained to the residence which was several feet away and a small amount of damage to the shed.

Units returned at 1059 hours.
