Earlier this month the Honey Brook Fire Company received official notification from the Office of the State Fire Commissioner that they would be receiving $14,264.00 through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. The awarded monies will be used for two separate projects this year to improve the fire house and training for our members.

The first of the projects will be to construct a "watch desk" area in the main engine bay which will be used to complete fire reports, and hold the day to day administrative items for the Fire operations such as incident and truck reports, County Base Station Radio , Radio Chargers and district maps. The second project is the purchase of a forcible entry prop. This prop allows firefighters to train on several different door styles and openings and can be used in numerous training scenarios to help firefighters understand how to overcome entry problems into buildings during times of emergencies.

This grant program is a great asset to all Fire and Ambulance companies throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and we would like to thank State Fire Commissioner Mann and his staff for their assistance in providing this program annually to our volunteers.
