Another Busy Day for Honey Brook Volunteers

At 1202 hrs Station 33 (Honey Brook) was alerted for a brush fire in the 3000 block of Horseshoe Pike. Brush 33 arrived to find an area of brush approx 50' X 400' involved in fire along a field. Deputy 33 (Robb) established "Horseshoe Pike Command" and requested Engine 33-5 and mutual aid bringing Engine 49-5 (East Brandywine) and Lancaster Engine 49-1 & Tanker 49 (White Horse).

Crews worked quickly to control the area involved and took extra care to ensure the wooded area was saturated with water to prevent a reburn. Units cleared the incident around 1400 hrs.

At 1445 hours Station 33 was alerted to the 4900 block of Horseshoe Pike for an automatic fire alarm. Crews arrived to find a faulty alarm system and cleared the incident.

Around 1600 hours, Station 33 was alerted for Brush 33 to assist Station 69 (Twin Valley) on a field fire, Brush 33 was in service for approx 1 hour.
