Rescue & Pumper-Tanker Assist on Small Fire in Highland
By HBFC
February 19, 2025
At 14:20 hours on Wednesday afternoon, Station 33 was due for the RIT assignment assisting Company 8 for a reported outbuilding in Highland Township. Rescue 33 responded with eight personnel followed by Engine 33-5 with six additional personnel to supplement the assignment. First arriving units found a 30'x30' single story, pole barn fully involved and began suppression efforts. The assignment was quickly scaled back as Ladder 8, E27-2, and Lancaster E52-1 made quick work of the incident. Command returned Rescue 33 as the RIT assignment was no longer necessary, but requested E33-5 continue to the scene. Engine 33-5 supplied initial units during mop-up efforts and assisted with overhaul before clearing the scene.
While returning, E33-5, E33-1, and Chief 33 responded to the 100 Block of Winston's Way in West Caln assisting Company 35 for a odor investigation inside a residence. Later that evening, Rescue 33, Chief 33, and Micu-2441 would handle a pediatric medical emergency in the Borough.
