Working Basement Fire on White Birch St.

February 13, 2024

The Honey Brook Volunteers continue to stay busy in 2024, responding to yet another first due working fire. At 06:12 this morning, the Honey Brook Fire Company along with mutual aid were dispatched to the 300 block of White Birch St. in Honey Brook Township for a house fire. Within two minutes of dispatch, Engine 33-1 was on the street with a crew of six and arrived at the scene only three minutes later. The crew from Engine 33-1 secured their own water, stretched one attack line and found heavy smoke on the first floor, but no fire. The engine crew then made interior access to the basement to locate and extinguish the fire. Engine 33-5 arrived as the second due engine helping secure water for Engine 33-1 and checked for any extension inside the home. Rescue 33 arrived as the first due special, splitting it's crew to conduct a primary search as well as roof operations. Thanks to a quick and staffed response, 33 units contained the fire to the basement, and prevented any further spread to the rest of the home.

Assistant 33 held the White Birch Command and Deputy 33 had operations for the incident. This fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshals Office. We'd like to thank our Mutual Aid partners once again for their help on this incident.

Honey Brook units have handled six emergencies in the last 24-hours, including two first-arriving box alarms.

Units: Engine 33-1, Engine 33-5, Rescue 33, Deputy 33, Assistant 33, Traffic 33

Mutual Aid: L30, L34, L39, 49, 69, MIC193, MIC2441, Fire Marshals
