February 24, 2024

Yesterday, members of the Honey Brook Fire Company as well as a handful of members from the Caernarvon Township Fire Company (L34) and East Brandywine Fire Company (49) completed their final session of the Rapid Intervention Teams training course. This was a 16-hour certificate level course through the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy, taught by Bucks County Community College. Throughout this course, members learned and applied various firefighter rescue and extrication techniques utilized by rapid intervention teams. The Honey Brook Fire Company currently provides the 1st alarm RIT assignment to ten (10) neighboring agencies.

We’d like to thank Mike Kotzo, an accomplished member of the FDNY, as well as the rest of his staff for sharing their knowledge and teaching this course. We’d also like to thank the generous homeowners for allowing us to utilize their property for continued training.

If you live in Honey Brook Borough, or Honey Brook Township and plan to tear down an existing structure on your property, please consider contacting the HBFC. Every year, we benefit from real world training through the utilization of acquired structures such as this.

33 units would also handle two emergencies in the Borough, and one in the Township later in the day.
