At 14:19 hours on Friday afternoon, just as golfers were making their way off the course, Lancaster County-Wide Communications alerted area units for a reported mobile home fire on the 300 block of Twin County Road, in Caernarvon Township. Station 33 was due full-company on the box alarm, assisting Lancaster Station 34 (Caernarvon Fire Company). First arriving 34 units had fire showing on the (B) side of a single-wide mobile home, and had reports of possible entrapment. Engines 33-5 and 33-1 assumed the roles of third and fifth due engines, while Rescue 33 operated as the first due special. Crews made quick work of the fire, while all searches fortunately proved to be negative.

At 14:41, while operating at the fire, Station 33 was alerted to Gooseberry Lane in Honey Brook Township, for a reported brush fire. Chief 33, Engine 33-1, and Rescue 33 were released from the scene and responded. Just four minutes later, the Chester County Fireboard advised Chief 33 of a vehicle fire on the 900 block of South Birdell Road. With 33 units now spread thin across three active incidents, Station 35 was added to the vehicle fire assignment. Deputy and Chief 35 arrived and confirmed one vehicle well involved, with fire spreading into the woods. Engine 33-1 arrived, stretched one line and extinguished the fire, Chief 35 held the South Birdell command. Simultaneously Chief 33, Deputy 35, Brush 33 and Rescue 33 arrived at the 400 Block of Gooseberry Lane to find roughly two acres of woods going. Chief 33 established the Gooseberry Command and requested additional resources to scene. Ultimately, crews were able to contain and extinguish the woods fire without further spread. The fire was placed under control at 15:33 hours.

The Honey Brook Fire Company would like to remind all residents that The Chester County Commissioners have declared a 30-Day "Burn Ban", which includes all open burning. With most of Chester County experiencing severe drought conditions, wildfire potential remains high in our area and has been taxing on local emergency services. We'd like to thank all of our mutual aid partners for their assistance with these incidents on Friday.

Honey Brook Volunteers we're busy all day Friday, holding our annual Golf Outing, handling three emergency incidents, and conducting a boot drive fundraiser Friday evening. This comes on the heels of one of the busiest months ever in Company History, handling 54 calls for service in October.
