At 01:49 on the morning of New Year's Eve, Station 33 was alerted to assist Station 49 (East Brandywine) for a reported building fire on the 1800 block of Horseshoe Pike, in West Brandywine Twp. The Chester County Fire Board was receiving multiple calls and hit the working fire dispatch. Chief 49 arrived and confirmed heavy fire showing from the rear, and established Horseshoe Pike Command.

Engine 33-1 arrived and assumed first due engine responsibilities. Laying 500' of LDH from the hydrant at the entrance to the fire scene, and stretched three attack lines. The crew from 33-1 worked in conjunction with crews from Station 49 to extinguish the large fire which was burning exterior structures as well as inside the main building. Rescue 33 arrived and assisted with fire suppression roles and overhaul. Honey Brook crews operated for roughly three hours before being released by command.

We'd like to thank the East Brandywine Fire Co. and West Whiteland Fire Co. for helping get our engine back in service. We'd also like to thank the Garden Spot Fire Co. for covering our local while we operated at this Incident.
