Career Plans

Train and learn as much as I can.

Why did you join the fire service?

I became interested in the fire service through my father. Grew up around the fire house so only seemed fitting to join when I was of age.

What are your hobbies and/or interests outside of the fire service?

I enjoy the outdoors a lot to include hunting, shooting firearms, driving, racing, Penn State football, and spending time with my daughter.

What do you like best about being part of the fire service?

Meeting people from throughout the state who are involved in the fire service. No matter how different of backgrounds we have throughout life the fire service brings everyone together and allows you to share a bond very few other services or organizations can relate to. Not to mention the feeling of being able to help someone and see the genuine appreciation and thanks in their eyes afterwards.

What is your most memorable incident?

Probably the fire in 2004 up on top of Narvon Mountain. It was my first call since returning from my first deployment with the Army. When we arrived the house was completely engulfed, we tried as hard as we could to save what was left of the homeowners belonging in the garage, to eventually be pushed out by the fire. It was the most amount of fire I have ever seen in one house and the way it behaved was fascinating as it made sure it covered every inch of ever possible surface. It was a sight I'll never forget.
