January 25, 2025

At 17:31 hours on Friday evening, Station 33 was alerted for the full-company assist on fire box 3523. Initial reports stated a two-story barn fully involved on the 200 block of Hill Road in West Caln Township. While responding, Deputy 33 observed flames and a column of smoke from a mile out, and requested the working fire dispatch. Upon arrival, Deputy 33 confirmed heavy fire throughout a two story pole-barn type structure, roughly 50' x 100' in size, and passed command to Chief 35 who arrived only moments later. Engine 33-1 with a crew of six assumed the FDE, laying 900' of LDH from the end of the drive and initiated the fire attack. The crew of E33-1 lead-off with a 2.5" attack line and followed up with a 1.75" crosslay. E33-1 forced entry to the structure and began making progress, quickly knocking down the well advanced fire. Engine 33-5 arrived SDE, picking up the supply line while it's crew assumed additional suppression roles. Incoming units assisted with softening the structure, fire suppression, RIT, water supply, and other fireground tasks. Chief 35 placed the fire under control at 18:35 hours with all hands working on extensive overhaul. Honey Brook units were in service for roughly three hours before being released by command. This fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshall's office.

While operating at the Hill Road fire, Chief 33 along with Brush 33, Lancaster Tanker 52, and Engine 6-1 responded to the 3000 block of Horseshoe pike in Honey Brook Township for a reported auto accident. After searching the area, Chief 33 determined the MVA to be unfounded, and recalled the assignment. We'd like to thank Lancaster Tanker 52 (Christiana) and Engine 6-1 (West Whiteland) for covering our local while we operated at this incident. We'd also like to thank Utility 35 for making multiple trips to the 33 house, delivering our hose and equipment following this incident.

This was the third working fire of the week for the Honey Brook Fire Company.

Units: Engine 33-1, Engine 33-5, Rescue 33, Utility 33, Traffic 33, Deputy 33
