Working Building Fire in Honey Brook Borough
By HBFC
March 27, 2025
At 11:36 on Wednesday morning, the Honey Brook Fire Company along with automatic aid were dispatched to the 1300 block of Walnut Street in Honey Brook Borough for a report of smoke in the building. Less than three minutes after dispatch Engine 33-1 was on the road with a crew of six. Engine 33-1 (Lieutenant 33B) arrived as the FDE, laying-in from the intersection of Maple and Walnut Streets, and reported smoke showing from a 1-story commercial, and again requested the working fire dispatch. This crew made the stretch through the (A) side and located and extinguished the fire in the attic via a drop down attic hatch. Engine 33-5 (Captain 33B) arrived as the SDE, completing the lay from the hydrant on Maple, picking up E33-1's line and stretched a second line into the (D) exposure building. Rescue 33 (Captain 33A) arrived as the first due special and went to the roof, completing vertical ventilation and created a more tenable attic space for E33-1's crew. Additional incoming units completed various other fireground tasks. Thanks to a great effort by all, the fire was held to it's place of origin, limiting any additional damage and ultimately saving the structure. Chief 33 held the "Walnut Street Command".
This fire is currently under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshall's office.
Chief 33 utilizing the "Command Board" to track fireground personnel, assignments, and progress throughout the duration of the incident. A special thanks to Combat Ready Fire Training for this setup.
