Honey Brook Township Barn Fire

Today at 0824 hours the Honey Brook Fire Company along with mutual aid was alerted to the 1100 block of Chestnut Tree Rd in Honey Brook Township for a reported barn fire. Engine 33-1 responded with a crew of six, while responding Engine 33-1 requested the first alarm tanker task force due to the large column of smoke in the sky. Deputy 33 was first arriving and reported a large dairy barn fully involved. Engine 33-1 arrived and deployed multiple handline to begin fire suppression. Two neighboring ponds were used to supply Engine 33-1, Ladder 69 and Ladder 49. Crews were on location until early afternoon battling this fire. The Honey Brook Fire Company would like to thank all our mutual aid companies that responded to this incident, as well as Cochranville Fire Company Engine 27-2 and Keystone Valley Fire Department Tanker 8 for providing standby coverage for the Honey Brook area for over eight hours incase another incident were to occur. The Honey Brook Fire Company would also like to thank Null's Towing for their assistance with pulling out stuck apparatus at this fire, as well as Kraph Buses for donating a fuel truck to re-fuel Engine 48-1 the main supply engine for the incident.
